TARTARUS DESCENT

Tartarus Descent drops 35 meters from the rim of a volcanic pit into the underworld, through a spiral of hairpins cut into black and violet rock. Magma rivers glow below the road, iron gantries cross overhead and braziers mark every entry.

It is an Extreme-rated course built around braking, not top speed: three stacked hairpins arrive one after another with barely a breath between them, and a blind kink returns you to the rim.

• Brake before the crest of each drop — the road falls away mid-corner.
• Short, sharp handbrake drifts rotate the car through the stacked hairpins.
• Save nitro for the climb back to the rim; boosting downhill only overruns the next hairpin.
